There are many top news anchors in Pakistan who are widely respected for their work. Following are the list of the top 10 news anchor in Pakistan:

1. Shaheen Sehbai

        Shaheen Sehbai is a Pakistani-American journalist and former Group Editor of daily English newspaper The News International.


    
    Shaheen Sehbai resigned from The News International in March 2002 after receiving a memorandum from his publisher admonishing him for publicishing libelous material, alienating advertisers, and generally avoiding senior government officials as well his own staff, among other complaints; Mr. Sehbai claimed that the criticism was because he failed to support the Musharraf government. In August 2002, the Committee to Protect Journalists sent a public letter to then-President Pervez Musharraf to draw his attention to alleged harassment of Shaheen Sehbai's family.

        In July 2010, Shaheen Sehbai filed a defamation notice against Azeem Daultana, a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan and two newspapers for publishing a column written by Daultana. The notice complains that the column alleges that Sehbai has undertaken a "revenge mission" against the present President Asif Ali Zardari because Sehbai had been "denied" an Ambassadorship, a claim that was originally made in an Aftab Iqbal column published in Nawa-i-Waqt on December 29, 2008.

        In April 2016, Shaheen Sehbai resigned from The News International citing concerns about the newspaper's political leaning and claiming that the paper "unnecessarily engaged in a dangerous conflict with national institutions."

2. Imran Riaz Khan

       Imran Riaz Khan is a Pakistani journalist, television anchor, and YouTuber. He graduated from Forman Christian College in Lahore with a degree in public communication.



       On the Express News channel, he began his career as a news anchor and journalist. In April 2022, his “Imran Khan” YouTube channel, which he began in 2020, had more than 2.7 million followers. He has also hosted current affairs programs for the television networks Samaa TV and GNN.

3. Moeed Pirzada

        As a well-renowned Pakistani-British political commentator, Moeed Hasan Pirzada contributes critical analysis and insightful perspectives on 92 News’ Hard Talk. His columns in national newspapers are highly regarded for their scrutiny of local and international politics.

4. Sami Ibrahim

           Sami Ibrahim, is an American-Pakistani television journalist. He is known for his work at BOL television, ARY News and Geo News. In May 2023, he was abducted by unknown persons and later released.



        In May 2023, Abraham's family and the independent BOL television station in Karachi, where he works, announced that he had been kidnapped. Ali Raza, Abraham's brother, claims that the event took place when eight people in four different vehicles stopped Abraham's car while he was driving back from work in Islamabad. After that, they carried him away, while the driver was unhurt.Abraham's kidnapping's circumstances are still a mystery. In order to defend the rule of law and safeguard the rights of journalists in the nation, the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has urged the government to reveal Abraham's whereabouts and secure his safe return.

5. Ayaz Amir

        Ayaz Amir is a Pakistani Journalist, analyst, columnist, former military officer, diplomat and politician. Previously, he had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in 1990s and a member of the National Assembly between 2008 and 2013.


        Ayaz Amir was born in Bhagwal village of Chakwal. He received his education from Lawrence College, Murree and then joined Pakistan Military Academy as a cadet officer. He retired as a captain from the Pakistan Army and joined the foreign service. In 1981, he was imprisoned again for five months.

        Ayaz Amir started his career as a columnist for Dawn. His columns were initially known for being critical of the Pakistan Army’s role in politics; he has taken a softer approach in recent times proclaiming the Army of today to be a battle hardened and resilient Army and not the chocolate Army of yesteryears. He later wrote a column for The News International for many years before he developed differences with them and turned to writing his column in Urdu.

        He has also hosted a talk show Counterpoint on ARY One World television. He currently appears as an analyst on the Pakistani TV channel Duniya News current affairs show called Think Tank.

        A day after attending a seminar hosted by Imran Khan, where Ayaz criticized Khan for giving an extension to the Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa and referring to the top brass in the army as "property dealers", Ayaz Amir got in his car to leave the studio of Dunya News, as he did so his car was stopped half way by unidentified men who dragged him out of his car, tore his clothes, and stole his phone and wallet.

6. Ahmed Noorani

        Ahmad Noorani is a Pakistani-born investigative journalist based in the United States. He is the co-founder of Fact Focus. Noorani started his career in 2007.In August 2020 he issued a report on the assets of Lt. General Asim Bajwa's family. In November 2021 he uploaded an audio clip attributed to former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Saqib Nisar in which he was talking with other unknown people about putting pressure on the sentences of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz.



        In October 2017, Noorani was attacked near the Zero Point in Islamabad, armed men on motorcycles forcibly stopped his vehicle and then pulled him out of the vehicle and tortured him. In November 2021 Noorani's wife, Umbreen Fatima's car was attacked by an unidentified assailant who escaped near her home in Lahore, threatening to kill her.

7. Rana Azeem
        Rana Azeem is leading anchor of Channel 92. He currently hosts a current affairs program "The Last Hour" on Channel 92 and on his official YouTube channel. He was the former head of The Pakistan Federal Union Journalist PFUJ.
